Dr. Archer's medical journey began at Cornell University, where he participated in research in the field of cell signaling and graduated with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Sciences (Honors, Magna Cum Laude) in Biochemistry.
Inspired by his undergraduate research, Dr. Archer went on to pursue a combined M.D. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, located near his hometown on Long Island. His passion for research resulted in numerous honors, an impressive collection of 13 publications, and the awarding of a breast cancer research program grant from the Department of Defense.
Dr. Archer completed his residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia), a renowned institution known for its exceptional Internal Medicine training program, where he earned the prestigious "Hospitalist Resident of the Year" award.
After his time at Columbia, Dr. Archer settled by Connecticut's Candlewood Lake with his wife, Joan, and their two sons. It was at Greenwich Hospital that his clinical skills and leadership flourished, leading to his roles as Chair of Medicine and Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program, where he dedicated himself to enhancing the quality of patient care and the education of future physicians.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Archer contributes to the academic community as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College.
When he isn't caring for patients, Dr. Archer enjoys outdoor adventures with his family on Candlewood Lake, recreational sports, skiing, and testing his mettle in triathlons of varying distances.
